X (Twitter): report a deepfake or AI-generated intimate image
Here is the official process on X (Twitter), checked on 15 October 2026. Follow the steps in order.
Before you start
- Write down the links and the date. Don’t share the image, not even to warn people close to you: send the link instead.
- Report it on each platform as non-consensual intimate content or as an AI-manipulated image.
- Ask Google and Bing to remove the results: Google has a dedicated process for fake explicit images.
- If you’re an adult, StopNCII.org also works for faked images.
The steps
- Take a screenshot and copy the post’s link.
- Tap the menu icon, then "Report post".
- Choose the non-consensual intimate content option: deepfakes and AI-edited images are covered.
- Say whether it’s you and submit.
You may need to log in to your account. Checked on 15 October 2026.
If it doesn’t work
An official form can go unanswered or be wrongly refused. That’s not the end: there are other doors, heavier but effective — the company hosting the site, the company managing its domain name, the laws of your country, the data protection authority. That’s exactly what we do for you, with your agreement.
- Reporting to the platform
- A written request to the site owner
- The domain name registrar
- The hosting company
- Search engines
- The authority or the courts
